June 20, 2010You’ve probably seen this if you are a tv buff, but this is one of my favorite Chevrolet commercials this year for the Equinox, Consumer’s Digest Best Buy. There are so many options with the Equinox, and the attention to detail and fuel efficiency makes it a vehicle to love for any stage of life.

I wanted you all to be on the look-out for a car that is perpetuating lots of talk in the automobile industry. Introducing, the 2011 Buick Regal. Test-driven by Automobile Magazine‘s Joe DeMatio at the famous Nurburgring Nordschleife, in the Eifel mountains of Germany, the Buick Regal is making heads turn.
“What it is, it turns out, is a very well tuned, near-luxury sport sedan that, in terms of sheer driving pleasure, surpasses anything else in its class made in Detroit these days, not to mention imports like the Acura TSX and the Lexus ES350.” -Joe DeMatio, Automobile Magazine
The car comes with two direct injection, four-cylinder engines and is available with optional manual transmission for the do-it-yourself shifter types.
“I couldn’t quite get over the fact that I was driving a Buick that was running in the fast-moving flow of BMWs, Audis, and Mercedes-Benzes, and yet I didn’t feel the least bit deprived. The engine gladly races toward its 6500-rpm redline whenever it’s summoned, but it settles into a relatively modest 3500-rpm thrum at 110 mph. The brakes had good pedal feel and suffered no fade over repeated hard Autobahn use.” -Automobile Magazine

Back in Business
May 3, 2010As you already know if you live in New Albany, we were hit pretty badly by the flood waters that consumed much of Mississippi and Tennessee early Sunday evening. We were able to get all of the cars off of the lot just in time to save them, but we had lots of water inside. We did as much as we could Sunday night to stop the water, and God did a lot of work for us during the night as the waters began to recede a little. My heart was warmed when I arrived to work early Monday morning to find more than half of the employees already there, starting to clean up the mess.

I just wanted to thank you all for your phone calls, your inquiries, and your prayers. A lot has happened in the last couple of days, and we are thankful to get things moving again. I would like to especially thank David Joiner, Bro. Rickey Blythe, Kenny Rakestraw, David Meeks, Mike McCarter, Rickey Henry, and the New Albany Fire Department. I also want to give a special thanks to my employees and staff. We have a long way to go, but we’ve also gotten a lot done; I am so appreciative of your efforts and your eagerness to clean up and take care of Parks.
Come by and see us. We are open for business again, and you’ll likely get to see more of the clean-up going on now.

March 2010 Sales
April 3, 2010GM sales numbers for the month of March:
- Chevrolet had a 41% sales increase, led by Camaro and Equinox.
- Buick sales had a 76% increase thanks to Lacrosse, whose sales were up 236%.
- Terrain led GMC sales to be up by 45%.
- Buick was the fastest growing of GM’s brands in the first quarter with a sales increase of 57%.
“Today we reported our March sales, and we’re happy to announce that our four brands were up 43 percent, with every brand contributing double digit sales year-over-year improvements. In fact, our four brands delivered sixth consecutive months of year-over-year retail sales gains.” -Susan Docherty, Vice President of Marketing for GM, fastlane.gmblogs.com
“Industry analysis firms TrueCar and Edmunds.com predicted that GM’s March incentive spending would lead major automakers at more than $3,500 per vehicle, well above the industry average of roughly $2,800.” -MSNBC

GM Sales Up 11.5 Percent
March 8, 2010GM sales are up for the fifth straight month in a row, and they posted an 11.5% increase in February sales after picking up new customers from the Toyota recalls. The focused efforts on their core brands, Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac, have also been a contributing factor.
“For the fifth month in a row Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac reported a year-over-year increase in retail sales with a combined retail sales up seven percent,” said Susan Docherty, GM vice president for sales, service and marketing.
