Chevrolet, a Megabrand

August 26, 2010

Congrats to Chevrolet, the No. 5 Megabrand in the country. GM is spending our dollars smarter, keeping you informed of the latest, helping drive Detroit, and pushing our vehicles further than ever to bring you the best product. By shedding our smaller brands, we are now able to focus on the major brands. We are thrilled about the state of Chevrolet, and our brand is ever-growing. See article from AdAge on megabrands list here.

We are excited about the new things happening with our #1 GM brand, and I can tell you that some great things are coming as well.

Consumer’s Digest Best Buy, Chevrolet Equinox

June 20, 2010

You’ve probably seen this if you are a tv buff, but this is one of my favorite Chevrolet commercials this year for the Equinox, Consumer’s Digest Best Buy. There are so many options with the Equinox, and the attention to detail and fuel efficiency makes it a vehicle to love for any stage of life.

March 2010 Sales

April 3, 2010

GM sales numbers for the month of March:

  • Chevrolet had a 41% sales increase, led by Camaro and Equinox.
  • Buick sales had a 76% increase thanks to Lacrosse, whose sales were up 236%.
  • Terrain led GMC sales to be up by 45%.
  • Buick was the fastest growing of GM’s brands in the first quarter with a sales increase of 57%.

“Today we reported our March sales, and we’re happy to announce that our four brands were up 43 percent, with every brand contributing double digit sales year-over-year improvements. In fact, our four brands delivered sixth consecutive months of year-over-year retail sales gains.”  -Susan Docherty, Vice President of Marketing for GM, fastlane.gmblogs.com

“Industry analysis firms TrueCar and Edmunds.com predicted that GM’s March incentive spending would lead major automakers at more than $3,500 per vehicle, well above the industry average of roughly $2,800.” -MSNBC

GM’s Numbers are Positive

February 14, 2010

The new year is proving to be a better start for GM. CheersandGears.com reported that for the month of January, GM dealers had 146,825 total sales (including other brands), representing a total sales increase of 14 percent from the previous year.

“This is the fourth month in a row that Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac have shown a collective year-over-year retail sales increase,” said Susan Docherty, GM vice president, Sales, Service and Marketing. “Our long-term plan to continue to focus and strengthen our brands is delivering results.”

Some other facts you might want to know.

The Chevrolet Malibu has been A Consumers Digest Best Buy for 2009 and 2010 model years and beat out Toyota Camry and Ford Fusion for January sales. Not only has it been acclaimed critically, but it beats out Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, and Ford Fusion with its 33 MPG highway. See a complete overview of the Malibu here, with comparisons, accolades, and reviews.

In their first year, GM Crossovers, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain, have become the second best-selling crossovers in the industry (cheersandgears.com).

Chevrolet dealers sold 5, 371 Camaros. This is the eighth straight month it has outsold Mustang.

Equinox sales were up 67%.

The GMC Terrain nearly tripled the sales of the Pontiac Torrent that it replaced and beat out the Ford Flex by 3, 272 more sales.

Buick LaCrosse gained market share with retail sales of 142%.

Those of just a few of the highlights from GM, but I encourage  you to read GM’s informative blog, GM Fastlane Blog. They update daily and concisely with information that will benefit you, the consumer, as you are searching for your next vehicle.

I also want to remind you that GM is a proud sponsor of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. Check out this beautiful shot by Chris Gordaneer. The previous one is shot by him as well.

And, check out this commercial for GM as well, as it highlights some of our vehicles and what they have to offer.

May the Best Car Win

November 22, 2009

You’ve probably seen all of the commercials lately for GM’s campaign, “May the Best Car Win.” I’m excited, because there are so many commercials, ads, and other media that are letting the consumer choose for themselves. Chevrolet continues to prove that its cars are the most fuel efficient and can be compared to anyone. With the new 60-day guarantee, if you don’t love it, you can return it. GM wants to show you that the quality of your new car is unmatched, and it asks you to put them up against anyone. Test drive a new car today, and may the best car win.

“They Say”

October 27, 2009

“They say that the other leading automotive company is the best. They say Toyota has the most fuel-efficient cars on the road.” Be careful of “they say,” people. I’m urging you to check your facts—not for me, but for yourself. We are a people that rely on word-of-mouth, which is sometimes a great thing. In fact, word-of-mouth advertising can be the best and certainly most trusted. However, we should push to be a people that researches, evaluates, and looks beyond the “they say”s. Watch for yourself, and don’t be afraid to dig a little. It might just benefit you in the end. See why, in this case, “they say” was wrong.

1 Million and Counting…

September 24, 2009

ChevroletEquinox-FuelCellTwo years ago, GM launched Chevrolet Equinox fuel cell electric vehicle deployments for Project Driveway at the Society of Environmental Journalists event in Palo Alto, California. The premise was that vehicles would be distributed in various locations around the country to people just like you to test out Equinox fuel cell Evs in their everyday driving routines and “without consuming a drop of petroleum or emitting anything from the tailpipe except pure water vapor,” Mark Vann, Chevrolet Fuel Cell Vehicle Deployment Manager declared. During the week of September 6, the program passed 1 million miles.

We’ve learned a great deal from having the vehicles in varied usage and climates, from the heat of the San Fernando Valley in LA to the bitter cold winter of West Point, NY. We’ve used these experiences to extend fuel cell stack life and improve the regenerative braking system, which benefited our 2-mode hybrid vehicles since it’s the same brake system used on the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon 2-mode hybrids. Plus, we’ve applied what we’ve learned about fuel cell thermal design to the Volt battery design.

It was Chevrolet’s desire to test the vehicles out with real people—people with real, everyday schedules that are unpredictable and often hectic. This gave them more relevant feedback and got people involved outside of the test centers. Click here for more from GM’s own blog, GM FastLane.

It’s Time to Test Drive Something Sporty

September 17, 2009

2010_camaroFor any of you that haven’t seen or driven a New 2010 Camaro yet, your time invested will be well spent. Those who see this new product recognize them immediately as what they are without anyone telling them. The first two that we have sold were driven by me to fuel up prior to delivery. Everyone that sees these vehicles knows that they are looking at the new Camaro, and you can see by their facial expressions and body language that they like and are impressed with what they see. Many of the folks at the gas station have come up and told me so. These cars have beautiful styling that is very similar in appearance to the original, but current and stylish for the present.

All of these considerations make it a hit with the old and young alike. It is an excellent value and the V-6 is a great performing engine that gets 32 MPG!  Appointed with the RS package, it is an exceptional looking, sporty, and efficient set of wheels. See or contact us at your first opportunity for further information, pricing, availability, or any other questions that you may have.  We want to serve you!
